Why they called us
Sixty-minute medicine delivery is a logistics problem long before it is an app problem. You need to know what each pharmacy actually has on the shelf right now, who can pick it up, and what happens when the order is already moving and the medicine turns out not to be there.
What we built
The apps for the people ordering and the people delivering, the backend keeping them in agreement, and the infrastructure underneath. Eighteen months, and the client stayed for all of them.
The hard part
One order has to be true for three people looking at three different screens at the same time. A customer who sees 'on its way' while the courier has not accepted yet is a customer you lose, and in healthcare it is worse than an inconvenience. Most of the work was in the states an order can be in and in what happens when one of the three goes offline mid-delivery.
What had to be solved
- One order, three views, no moment where they disagree
- Stock that changes while the order is being placed
- What happens when a courier's phone loses signal halfway
- Handling medicine, which is not a pizza: the rules are different and so is the liability
“Their project management was great. They were really helpful and professional.”
Building something like this?
Fifteen minutes with one of the founders. If it isn't a fit we'll say so, which saves us both the second call.
